Casimir Pulaski

Born March 4, 1746 in Winiary, near Warka.
Died October 11, 1779 in Savannah, America
Name in Polish written as Kazimierz PuĊ‚aski.
Member of the Polish-Lithuanian szlachta and politician.

He fought against Russian domination of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. When this uprising failed, he emigrated to North America, where he became a general in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. Here he got the title of honor "Father of American cavalry."
He died of injuries in the Battle of Savannah.
